Overview:
An early stage startup pioneering bio-transformation is seeking a creative partner to build a foundational brand system that communicates who they are, what they stand for, and why their mission matters. The company creates soil-based, regenerative packaging solutions and provides services that help other businesses turn waste into assets. The brand positions itself as a global thought leader in sustainability, circular supply chains, and planetary health. The goal is to craft a visual and verbal identity that resonates across investors, partners, customers, research collaborators, media, and government stakeholders.
Project Objectives:
The purpose of this project is to build a foundational brand system for the brand that visually and verbally communicates who they are, what they stand for, and why their mission matters. This system will:
- Position them strongly with investors to support fundraising journey and signal market leadership
- Frame brand story in a way that resonates across diverse stakeholders. This includes potential customers, partners, investors, research collaborators, media, and relevant associations
- Reflect USP as global pioneers of soil based, regenerative packaging solutions
- Position them as both credible disruptors and thought leaders – scientifically rigorous, technologically innovative, and warm enough to connect with people on the urgency of the mission
- Define a core messaging framework that connects founders, investors, and the broader ecosystem with clarity and conviction
- Create a distinct visual identity that embodies their expertise, future facing technology, and regenerative ethos
- Deliver modular, scalable templates and assets to ensure consistent storytelling across decks, newsletters, websites, social media, and press
- Lay the foundation for long term brand evolution, enabling growth into a more strategic platform as they expand its impact
Current Challenges & Additional Information:
- Mission is to balance human progress with planetary health
- They're primarily B2B but because their solutions tackle the systemic crisis of waste, but they anticipate significant engagement with government bodies and municipalities and need an identity that also works as B2G
- While visual design is critical, storytelling is equally important. They need a narrative that seamlessly connects their origin story (sports medicine discovery) to their current work (soil‑based regenerative packaging) and the broader vision which they will share. While they have worked on this internally, they are seeking agency collaboration to refine and articulate this story
- Sustainable packaging is their current primary pathway to eliminating microplastics, but the vision extends further. Future products and services may not be packaging‑related, yet they will remain rooted in the same purpose: eliminating microplastics, enriching soil, and advancing planetary health
Deliverables:
1. Logo Lockups:
- Logo lockups and usage rules (they have a logo but may be open to refinement if required)
- Product logos – logo styles for various products/services
2. Vision/Mission:
While they're working on potentially changing the current vision & mission, collaborating with an agency is preferable to ensure cohesiveness and alignment with tone of voice and messaging strategy
3. Tagline:
Can be discussed. One they had in mind was something like Healthy products->Healthy humans-> Healthy planet
4. Tone of Voice / Messaging Basics
- Brand tone of voice/personality
- Messaging/narrative framing
- Sample copy for website, LinkedIn posts, blogs etc.
Note: This component is integral for their brand positioning, so we need an excellent copywriting team.
5. Visual Identity System
- Set color palette
- Typography & hierarchy
- Iconography or shape language (basics)
- Guidance on usage of colors & fonts
6. Templates
- Master PowerPoint / Google Slides template
- Word template (ideal but not mandatory)
7. Mockups
- Social media posts
- Website
- White paper
- E-book
- Brochure
- Newsletter
- Email signature
- Event standee & backdrop
- Toolkit box that holds brochure, samples, etc.
