Role Mandate

Own and scale company’s video function across five strategic pillars:

  1. Video IPs: original video-first content, podcasts, founder-led formats
  2. Distribution: multi-platform reach, channel growth, audience-first execution
  3. BrandLabs delivery: in-house production engine for branded content and sponsored campaigns
  4. AI-led production: AI integrated across editing, scripting, and distribution
  5. Reach today, monetisation tomorrow: build audience first; revenue is the downstream outcome

What you'll own

  • Video strategy & IP development. Define and execute end-to-end video strategy. Build and scale video IPs across audience and branded content. Identify high-leverage formats in startups, AI, business, and tech.
  • YouTube channel + multi-platform short-form (0→ 1). Build YouTube channel from scratch: strategy, programming, and scale. Architect platform-native formats across Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn Video, X. Decide what format lives where and why.
  • Video-first content, editorial standards. Build video output as its own audience engine. Use editorial stories as raw material when relevant; create new video-first content when that’s sharper. Adhere to editorial voice and standards throughout.
  • Distribution & growth. Own multi-platform distribution end-to-end. Drive algorithmic growth, creator collaborations, paid amplification. Build verticalised content ecosystems (AI, D2C, IPOs). Turn one-time views into sustained audience growth.
  • AI-led video production. Integrate AI across editing, production, scripting, and distribution. Reduce cost, improve turnaround time, increase output quality. Build the AI-native video engine.
  • Team & operations. Manage and scale a team of producers and editors. Start hands-on; transition into full leadership within 3–6 months. Build production workflows, systems, and content pipelines.

Success Metrics

  • Viewership and channel growth across YouTube, IG Reels, YT Shorts, LinkedIn, X
  • Retention and engagement: average watch time, completion rates, share-velocity
  • Hit rate of new formats: % of new format experiments that scale
  • Content efficiency: output volume vs. production cost, with AI tooling lifting the ratio
  • Channel growth velocity: subscriber and follower compound across platforms
  • Revenue contribution (Phase 2 onward): sponsor-monetisable audience and video IPs

Who you are

  • A senior video operator who is also a creator: you’ve built or scaled a channel (your own or a company’s) and you understand short-form distribution at the level of someone who has shipped 100+ pieces of it.
  • Audience-first thinking: you build video products that earn their own audience. Editorial is raw material and standard, not the boss.
  • Multi-platform fluent: IG Reels, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, and X are different products to you, and you have proof of that in your work.
  • Comfortable on camera: not a full-time host, but willing to be part of the face of the channel where the format calls for it.
  • Hands-on with the craft: scripts, briefs, edits. You can do them, you can teach them, and you can ship at speed when the team is stretched.
  • Comfortable leading a team: and developing junior producers/editors into stronger versions of themselves.
  • AI-native in production: you’ve integrated AI tools into video workflows in production, not as a demo.
  • Strategic + executional: you can spec a 12-month channel roadmap and ship a video by Friday. Both modes are native, neither is a stretch.
  • Open background: B2B media, consumer brands, SaaS, or solo creator economy. We care about craft, channel-building, and taste, not pedigree.
